Dear Adventure Residents,
We hope this message finds you enjoying the wonderful spirit of our community here at Star Farms. We wanted to thoughtfully share an update regarding an unfortunate incident that took place at the Adventure Clubhouse last evening. It involved a confrontation that escalated into an altercation between a resident and an unidentified minor.
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office is fully engaged in the matter, and we’re providing our complete support to assist with law enforcement. Our focus remains on enforcement measures in line with our community guidelines and relevant regulations. As more clarity emerges, we’ll share an appropriate follow-up.
We recognize that hearing about such events can be unsettling, and we truly value the harmony and sense of togetherness that make Adventure such a special place. We are also engaging with the local sheriff’s office to ask for their professional assistance on best ways to handle escalating situations and further education surrounding these incidents.
In addition, we are going to hire a private consultant to audit our systems to find ways to mitigate any future incidents. We are committed to stay the course to find resolutions to keep our home town a special place.
As a gentle reminder, if you ever find yourself in a situation where you see something out of place, please reach out to the Sheriff’s Office. They’re the experts in managing these moments with care and professionalism.
Thank you for your understanding and for your role in nurturing the respectful, vibrant, and inviting atmosphere we all cherish. We’re here to support one another and keep our community thriving.
Best Regards,
Star Farms Board of Directors

Dear Star Farms Residents,
At Star Farms, your peace of mind, comfort, and enjoyment are at the heart of everything we do. We’re delighted to share this community update to keep you informed about our latest enhancements to quality of life, ongoing compliance efforts, the current state of our beautiful landscapes, and amenity operations. We also want to provide clear insights into a few recent events, all with the goal of fostering a harmonious and welcoming environment for everyone.
As a gentle reminder, if you ever observe any unlawful activity, please reach out directly to the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office without delay. While our HOA team is dedicated to upholding our community standards and governing documents, we defer to law enforcement for matters involving legal violations.
Enhancing Your Community Experience
Over the past few months, we’ve thoughtfully expanded our deterrence measures to create an even more serene and enjoyable atmosphere throughout Star Farms:
Increased Sheriff Support
The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office has stepped up their presence in Star Farms and the surrounding Lakewood Ranch area. Their dedicated deputies have been issuing warnings, making necessary arrests, and diligently investigating to maintain the enjoyable lifestyle we all cherish
Additional Monitoring Patrols
We’ve teamed up with Signal to offer enhanced monitoring patrols every night of the week. For any non-emergency concerns or to report something that seems out of place, feel free to contact Signal dispatch at (941) 254-6557; we’re here to help ensure peace of mind.
Advanced Video Surveillance
Our amenity areas feature state-of-the-art video systems with intelligent analytics to gently monitor for unauthorized access or rule infractions. These tools have already proven invaluable in addressing concerns and promoting accountability in a fair manner.
Gate and Access Controls
With our TekWave system, we incorporate video surveillance for vehicles to help investigate any unauthorized entries. Our access controls also enable us to identify after-hours visitors, ensuring everyone can enjoy our spaces responsibly.
Recent Community Updates
The Sheriff’s Office continues to support community security across Lakewood Ranch, including within our own Star Farms. Here are details on a few specific incidents we’ve addressed with care:
Bus Stop Incident
A disagreement arose at a school bus stop involving a resident and a non-resident, leading to a brief physical altercation. The residents’ amenity privileges have been suspended, and we’ve fully cooperated with the Sheriff’s Office by sharing all available video and images. If you have any details about external individuals involved, we’d appreciate you letting the HOA know so we can assist law enforcement further.
After-Hours Clubhouse Gathering
Earlier this week, a group of residents extended their time at the Adventure Retreat clubhouse beyond our standard hours. Initial concerns about damage were raised, prompting a call to the Sheriff, but our thorough review confirmed no new issues—the noted chair had been previously damaged and was already in line for repair. We’re grateful for the quick resolution.
Trade Route Thefts
Two minor incidents of petty theft occurred at Trade Route. The individuals were promptly identified, their privileges temporarily suspended, and full restitution was made. Given their young age and the positive steps taken, no charges were filed. Instead, our HOA leadership engaged in constructive conversations with their parents to guide better choices moving forward.
Supporting Community Standards
To keep our community vibrant and respectful, we’ve issued friendly reminders and temporary suspensions for matters such as:
Engaging in conflicts or unkind conduct
Using inappropriate language in shared spaces
Bringing coolers or beverages to restricted areas
Playful but overly energetic activities
Forgetting to register guests
Riding bikes or e-scooters outside designated zones
Your Role in Our Shared Paradise
We truly value your involvement and encourage you to share any observations that don’t seem quite right. Our hospitable staff is always ready to assist—simply let them know, and we’ll use our resources to look into it promptly.
As a friendly nudge, we invite you to:
Warmly register all your guests for a seamless experience
Embrace kindness and respect in all interactions
Enjoy bikes and e-scooters in the areas designed for them
Adhere to our posted amenity guidelines for everyone’s enjoyment
Review our code of conduct which is in place to help create the hometown we can all be proud to be apart.
Landscape Insights
Mother nature always wins, so we’d like to update you on our landscape journey. The recent cold spell has impacted some of our plants, causing stress and, in a few cases, loss. To protect them further, we paused irrigation during the freeze. In the weeks ahead, our team will evaluate common ground landscape recoveries and plan thoughtful replacements where needed. Your landscape team will also be available for consulting on your individual home landscape impacts. Each one of you are responsible for your homes landscape and must be diligent in your own landscape recoveries and plan thoughtful replacements where needed.
In addition, it is also that time of year where our State Water Management District initiates water restriction measures. We’ve attached a note from Sunnygrove detailing current water-use guidelines and how we’re thoughtfully managing irrigation. While these measures may temporarily affect appearances, rest assured we’re committed to minimizing any effects and restoring our lush surroundings.
Adventure Retreat Hours of Bliss
To ensure the best possible experience, our Adventure Retreat operates during staffed hours, with the exception of our 24/7 fitness facilities. These hours are from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily, allowing our team to provide attentive service and maintain the pristine condition of our amenities.
We understand some residents have questions regarding these hours of operation. We recognize that past communications have been inconsistent and could have been clearer, and we appreciate your understanding. Moving forward, we’re always glad to have further conversations with our residents to best serve your needs and dedicated to clearer messaging and reliable operations to enhance your enjoyment. We will be hosting a meeting in the next two weeks for that purpose. Details to follow.
We’re Always Here for You

Dear Star Farms Residents,
We understand that a recent incident involving an altercation that took place yesterday has raised concerns. We wanted to provide an update regarding the community’s actions treating this matter with the utmost seriousness and is actively collaborating with local law enforcement to help identify those involved, supporting their ongoing investigation and to help law enforcement to take action. Law enforcement is not just responding to incidents, they are here to protect and support our families every day. Through collaboration efforts like community communication networks and ongoing awareness, we are committed to fostering an environment where we help support law enforcement to act quickly.
As a reminder, the HOA’s primary responsibility is to uphold our community’s Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions (CC&Rs) and governing documents. Any illegal activity, threats, or acts of violence should be reported immediately to law enforcement so they can be addressed appropriately and without delay.
Together, we will continue to build a stronger hometown for all. We appreciate everyone’s cooperation as this situation is reviewed and handled through law enforcement and the proper legal channels. We will continue to work with residents and law enforcement on ideas and action plans to help place preventative measures.
Sincerely,
Star Farms Hospitality Team
